Pakistani officials say gunmen have attacked a court complex in the capital of Islamabad, killing 11 people and wounding 20.
Police official Nabi Awan says an unknown number of gunmen stormed the area in the capital where judges' chambers and lawyers' offices are located.
He put the death toll at 11. He said the gunmen also threw hand grenades as well in Monday's attack.
Dr. Aisha Eisani, a spokeswoman for the main hospital in Islamabad, confirmed the numbers in comments to reporters.
Pakistani television showed images of the area with windows blown out, walls torn and black-suited lawyers carrying what appeared to be dead and wounded from the buildings. Policemen with weapons raised ran into the area.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
