After back-to-back successful ventures in Naaigal Jaakirathai and Jackson Durai, Sibiraj is excited about his next release Kattappava Kanom, in which a gold fish plays the titular role! Also starring Aishwarya Rajesh, who's been paired opposite Sibiraj for the first time, Kattappava Kanom has been helmed by Mani Seiyon and bankrolled by WindChimes Media Entertainments.
Interestingly, the movie will have Vijay Sethupathi lending his voice and the same will be used to convey the thoughts of the fish. While many were wondering what prompted Vijay Sethupathi to take out time, amidst his busy schedule, to lend his voice for the movie, Sibiraj has revealed that Vijay is a good friend of his and agreed to be a part of the project without much of an ambiguity. Another question that was lingering on in everyone's mind was why the makers of Kattappava Kanom didn't go with Sathyaraj's voice, since the title is based on his character name from Baahubali. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Sibiraj has answered this question. "I teamed up with my father for Jackson Durai which became a hit, so I didn't want to make him a regular in my films. In addition, using his character's name and his voice would not come as a surprise. That is why we went for Vijay Sethupathi, who is a very good friend of mine," he has said.
