India's finest and most prestigious awards, the 54th Fair One Filmfare Awards 2006, presented for excellence in South India cinema is scheduled for the 4th of August at the HICC, Hyderabad. Often referred to as the "Indian Oscars", the event will see the best of South Indian Stars grace the occasion.
The Filmfare Awards being the oldest award ceremony enjoys great respect within the industry for its authenticity and glamour. The Fair One Filmfare Awards sponsored by Elder Pharmaceutical, along with associate sponsors Bisleri, Kurlon and Brisah, will hold this annual award night for the film fraternity and its fans.
This year is special, as the show will celebrate the completion of seven decades and more of South Indian Cinema. Filmfare will honour some of the greats of South Indian cinema at the event.
