Honeymoon Express Movie Reviews

This is a marvelous attempt from the team of 'Honeymoon Express'. The major boon for this comedy film turning out very engaging is because of coterie of comedy artistes of Kannada cinema. Every character that comes on the screen keeps you laughing and sometime more than what you expect. Hat trick director Nagendra Magadi deed is almost fulfilled with the artiste selection. All of them are seasoned comedy artistes and only dialogue sheet is required for them. A dozen of comedy artistes lead by Jaggesh and Narayan come out very well and that is the basic requirement for a laugh riot film like 'Honeymoon Express'.

The misconception among the characters and how it is unfolded especially in the second half is what makes the flow of the film interesting.

Srinath and Ranga with two boys and girls each are leading business tycoons. Srinath believes in astrology too much and one such forecast made by astrologer results in a costly lapse in the business for that Ranga becomes wrong. The friendship breaks. As the years pass Srinath's first son Nani a choreographer in profession is in love with Ramya the first daughter of Ranga. Srinath the humble father learns about this and he comes forward for patch up with his old friend turned foe. Ranga disagrees but Srinath takes a challenge that he would make his (Ranga's) second son Jaggi to marry his second daughter Soumya.

Ranga tries all means to see that his daughters not get married Srinath's sons. He develops a nasty plan and seeks the help of astrologer the trump card to create confusion in Srinath. The forecast accordingly made by astrologer to Srinath baffles him. But the same astrologer suggests that if the boys and girls exchange and get married it is not going to be that effective. Sensing some danger the two love pair agree to this exchange offer. But they have a different calculation on the marriage day. The tying of the Mangalasutra is fixed evening according to the horoscopes and on that evening the boys as bridegroom see that electricity fails at 6 pm. They interchange their positions and they tie the Mangalasutra to their respective lovers.

The new couples manage to reach their respective spouses right from the first night in their life makes it further more interesting on screen. A series of attempts by the couple to reach their respective spouses evoke laughter. Finally they are set for honeymoon. At this place also they are struck with close relative who attended the wedding. It is so near yet so far situation for the new couples in their honeymoon. The entry of Laila further complicates. Thanks to a film producer Karibasavaiah who came to this hotel with Laila and when his wife reach the same place he introduces Laila as Nani's wife. Confusion and chaos is not that easy for Jaggi and Nani to lead their lovely life.

How all the artiste assembly takes place as the photo album of the marriage discloses the truth and Ranga realizes his mistakes is the climax part.

Jaggesh and Narayan are at ease. Both have walked away with honors. They have left an impression that the producers can cast them in more and more Kannada films. They are perfect duo to tickle your funny bones. Deepu looks delectable and Santoshi is sweet in her looks. The dozen comedy artistes of Kannada cinema have given admirable support.

Anaji Nagaraj has taken extra strain in this speedy comedy film. He never derails. But a few seconds of the film is disturbing to the eyes because of technical errors.

Patnayak who is already on top in music lives up to the expectations. He has churned three lovely tunes.
