Ko 2 Review
by MyMazaa.comKo 2 Plot:
Bobby Simha, fed up with how our political system works, decides to kidnap the Chief Minister, played by Prakash Raj. His demands, though eccentric, makes perfect sense in accordance with today's economy. What are his demands? Does he get away with his crime? Watch Ko 2 at a theatre to unlock the answers.
Performances:
Bobby Simha, who proved his versatality in movies like Jigarthanda and Urumeen, has selected yet another interesting script. The kind of script that usually ends up on the lap of an action hero. Though his performance looks below par in the first half, it gradually improves in the latter half. What initially looks like a mismatch cast, ends up on a decent note. Prakash Raj is outstanding throughout. His character has been penned with utmost care by the director and the veteran does complete justice to it. Watch out for the scenes in which he converses about our country with Bobby. Nikki Galrani, who plays a journalist in the movie, has done a neat job. But, who impresses the most in the performance department is actor Ilavarasu, who plays the Home Minister.
Technicalities:
First half is slow as the film takes time to establish its characters. Thanks to a surprisingly good backstory and super-smart dialogues, the second half entertains you by keeping you hooked till the very end. Leon James' background score adds stability to the film. Though the first song (Kannama) is not impressive, rest of the songs are decent enough. Cinematography by Philip R Sundar is below par. Monotonous tones and colours makes the entire work look dreary. Editor Kevin could've shortened the first half.
Overall View:
Though Ko 2 has a plot which is not new to Tamil cinema, what makes the film watchable is its relevance to today's political system and some intelligent writing by its director.
