Bhageeradha Review

Bhageeradha, according to Hindu theology, stands for eternal try. Director Rasool Ellore has lived up to the name and has given an honest try in what is essentially a good commercial entertainer.

The story is not very new; but having said that the director Rasool holds your interest right through and makes a passable entertainer in the end. And Ravi Teja, who is showing signs of maturing as an actor, has helped him. He has tried his hand in comedy, and to the surprise of all, has managed to make a fist of it.

Chandu (Ravi Teja) is the son of Bullabbai (Vijay Kumar). Chandu is set out to enquire about KVR (Prakash Raj) who was helped to become an IAS officer by Bullabbai. KVR after promising to build a dam across the river in the village of Bullabbais vanishes. Chandu comes to the city and finds out that KVR is a flourishing realtor. KVR does not want a dam across the river as his family is said to have drowned in it. Now Chandu gets on a mission. He unhinges the business empire of KVR and puts an end to his mean ways.

Chandus love interest, in the interregnum, is Mahalaxmi (Shriya). She, the daughter of KVR, helps Chandu to take it out on her father.

The film is Ravi Tejas all through. He excels in fights. Then, that is not new. He shows a fine understanding of comedy. His capers are delightful. And so are Venu Madhavs. And Sunils. Shriya, looking every inch glamorous, is convincing in the simple role. Prakash Raj is as usual is efficient in a typical performance.

Cameraman Sunil Reddy has put in diligent work. His frames are neat and crisp. The action sequences - of Kanal Kannan and Ram Laxman ---are gritty.Chakris music has a nice feel to it. The songs are soothing.

Rasool has shown that he has the necessary skills to come up with a good product. Bhageeradha need not be the best product around. But it is a good try. Which is more than what you can say for others.
