Sakha Sakhi Review
by MyMazaa.comThis is a remake of Tamil film 'Thiruda Thirudi' (Dhanush and Chaya Singh). Who is wrong? The producer or the director! This question crops up to your mind after you come out watching the Kannada version from the theatre. Director Dayal is not well informed about the current film crops or he is aware of the past crops in Kannada. The producer is not conscious because he also repeats the same mistake. A worn out subject and over used scenes plus the lethargic screenplay makes this film difficult to sit through.
The racy song of the Tamil film has been already copied as 'Suntaragali Suntaragali€¦., in Kannada. Many of the scenes are less than mediocre. In such a situation for the heck of buying the remake rights this banner has burnt Rs.70 lakhs plus on this film. This kind of love-hate-hate-love film has appeared in umpteen times.
'A wrong thought by the right people' we have to say. The prestigious producer Rockline Venkatesh stamp is seen in the title card. That makes us to arrive at this conclusion.
Shivu (Suneel) is a careless youth. His brother is disciplined. His pranks bring a big pain to the parents. In one of the responsibilities fixed to Shivu by his father he crosses the limits. Instead of getting the DD for Rs.3000 he is locked in a problem. That is because of the accident to Viji (Chaya Singh). Shivu admit Viji to the hospital gives all care. He spends Rs.3000 in his pocket for this purpose but not dare enough to tell his father. He is not in talking terms with his father because of this incident. Meanwhile he telephone Viji and ask her to pay the medical expenses he met for her. Viji in turn tells it is because of him she met with the accident and he has to come and remit the remaining bill in the hospital. Fed up Viji is given care by his brother. He comes to Bangalore and gets a job of a salesman. Viji also comes to Bangalore for a job. It is such a coincidence that Viji and Shivu stay in the same apartment. In this apartment is Suja daughter of flat owner. The close acquaintance of Shivu and Suja irritates Viji. Slowly she starts loving him. But she never discloses it to him. Viji and Suja quarrel in daylight, that too in the market place €“ reason €“ each one claiming Shivu. The father of Viji comes to the conclusion to look for a boy for her. Ultimately Viji meets Shivu at 12.30 midnight to express her love but he is not ready to accept her. What turns up later is anybody's expectation.
Chaya Singh has redone the role she had done in Tamil. She is not convincing. The same is applicable to Sunil. Screaming is not acting Sunil should know. Rest of the artistes does not deserve any mention. In the comedy department Sadhu Kokila and gang is horrible.
Two tunes are worth hearing from Sadhu Kokila. Cinematography is not up to the mark.
Look out for better entertainment for the week end.
