Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja sparked a row after he and his wife Reeva Solanki were spotted taking selfies with Lions at the Wildlife Sanctuary at Sasan in Junagadh. The pictures were allover internet and the All-Rounder was criticized for violations the restrictions.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incident. Hardevsinh Solanki (Jadeja's Father-in-Law) gave a statement and paid the penalty of Rs 20,000 as the Cricketer is currently touring West Indies for the Test Series.
Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) AP Singh told Jadeja's father-in-law has completed the formalities on his behalf as the cricketer is out of the country. However, Concerned authorities were yet to receive the enquiry report. Further action would be taken based on the inquiry report. Even the Forest Staff on duty at that particular day will be facing punishment.
Generally, Tourists were prohibited from getting down their vehicles inside the sanctuary. But, Jadeja and Reeva were seen sitting on the ground and pointing towards the Lions as they pose for selfies.
